About Us...

About Us...
This is our travel blog... our electronic travel journal you could call it... documenting our journeys to new & different places. I called our blog, 'Tree Top Flyin'... a Jimmy Buffett reference that reminds me of traveling, & the adventures to be had with our newly acclaimed 'IFR' Pilot & his plane. We're a non-traditional family - living in non-traditional ways... and I love it that way. For the four of us life is quick & distinct... it's unique and adventuresome - but it's also very normal. We have angst, & we have laughter. We have pain and we have greatness. We're happy, and we're whole...this family, that is mine.

San Diego, CA - Jan 2-6, 2008

We took the boys to San Diego to see Sea World and the beach... we just wanted to go SOMEwhere, and California is less than a 2 hour flight in the plane.
Jim doesn't like California... he claims that every time he's been there it's muggy & rainy, and not quite warm enough to actually get IN the ocean. Oh, and, 'shit costs too much' he says. True, this is all true - but I still love it. So I drug him there :)
Jim's Aunt Paula & Uncle Rick, as well as his cousin Janet live there. What cool people! We honestly didn't expect to hang out with them much - we thought maybe a dinner or a kid-day. But they made us feel so wanted and so welcome... like we were family that lived accross the street. We saw them every day, and didn't want to leave them when the trip came to an end! Janet is my age and a girl ANY gal would love to have as a girlfriend. Aunt Paula is beautiful and sincere. And Uncle Rick is a hoot, a retired San Diego Detective who has seen California's harshest crimes... he's a GREAT story-teller!

Ahhh, He was right (always is) - it was muggy, and rainy, & too cold to swim.

Ty was GIDDY around Hailey... Ga-ga-gooshy! Much like He is around Stacey... He likes pretty girls.

What. Who let's their kid eat THAT? You can see in his eyes - he knows this is a stretch!

I don't think the 'bunny-ears' is funny... does anyone else?
Ahh, It get's real smiles out of 'em - so what the hell. You take what you can get!

It's fun to see all these pics and details from the places I kinda knew you were going, but sorta forgot and don't always keep track of... Palm Springs looked super fun too.
